It’s the day before our Loop adventure begins… FINALLY! All was going as planned until it wasn’t. Alan was cleaning the exterior and I was cleaning the interior. Mid-afternoon my stomach started rumbling and within a few hours, bidirectional Mt Vesuvius started 😳. I am barely functional and it’s getting dark out. Alan wants to do one last thing when I hear a loud thump, thump, splash! 💦 oh …. THAT can’t be good. I run up stairs to the helm and look out the back door and see Alan in the water holding on to the back swim platform. 😳😳😳 It is not easy to climb onto a boat or to a dock from the water without some sort of ladder, rope or assistance. Given it’s a holiday not many of our dock neighbors are around. Luckily one of them is, had heard the commotion and came running over. Dock neighbor Danny literally hauled Alan’s ass out of the water by grabbing his belt while Alan climbed out. Water temp was probably 60 and the air temp was dropping into the low 30’s. Everything from waist down was soaked. Luckily his phone and the coveted “she loves me watch” were uninvolved in the incident. Only thing hurt was his pride! 😉 The stories have begun and we hadn’t even left the dock yet!! Let the fun begin… Nauti Nerds is spiffy clean and she is ready to leave the dock!
