We head out early from Kingfisher Bay Marina in Demopolis AL and motor to the first Lock. It is very cold especially with the winds blowing. Alan is at the helm and I am controlling the line which holds us close to the bollard. We have to wait for another boat to join us and they are moving very slowly! My rosy face is smiling but I had some choice words for those folks taking their sweet time getting situated in the Lock!

We stop for the day at the famous Bobby’s Fish Camp. It is truly just a small floating dock at the edge of the waterway where you can dock for the night. However, you get “waked” by lots of passing barges throughout the night. This place is the only location to get fuel which is the only reason boaters stop there. There are NO other amenities there. Most marinas have some or all of these amenities: water, power hookups, pump out capability for dark water tank, bathrooms, laundry. Some even have a loaner car for boaters and on-site restaurant/bars.
